You Can’t Kill Me in Any Way that Matters:The Tasting Notes of Resistance is a culinary installation, participatory performance, and sculptural work from artist and Black Food Futurist Nia Lee. This work pulls inspiration from the tools of action and resistance from Queer Black and Brown archival narratives and reimagines them through a culinary and sculptural lens.

We invite you to embark on a transformative journey through the intersection of history, art, and sustenance. As a Black Food Futurist, Lee draws inspiration from the tools of action and resistance found in Queer Black and Brown archival narratives reshaping them through the lens of culinary art and sculpture.

This installation is a testament to the resilient spirit of marginalized communities and their relentless pursuit of freedom. It challenges us to savor the flavor of resistance and change, to recognize the beauty and change that emerges from decay and destruction and to celebrate the transformations born of our collective resilience.
